New baby, no sleep, dull skin. This is what helped.
After I had my baby my skin was just dull. Flat. The kind of skin that looks like it has been through something. Which, as a new mom, it had. Finding the right products is trial and error and I had been through enough of that to know when something was not working. Then I came across Korean skincare and something about it just clicked. My skin loved it from the start.
Best decision I made for my skin. Period.
Your body is a temple.
Before I get into the routine I want to say something because I think it matters.
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” 1 Corinthians 6:19
Taking care of your skin is not vanity. It is stewardship. You are a wife. You are a mother. You’re a busy woman. You pour into everyone around you every single day. Taking ten minutes morning and night to care for what God gave you is not selfish. It is you honoring your temple. You cannot pour from an empty vessel. You cannot glow when you are neglecting the very skin God put you in.
Why Korean skincare works differently
Korean skincare is built on one core idea. Hydration and prevention first. Not stripping your skin. Not loading it with products that fight each other. Working with your skin barrier to keep it healthy over time.
I want to be honest with you here because I do not want you going in expecting overnight results. It took me two weeks of being consistent before I saw a real difference. But when I saw it there was no question. My skin looked clearer. More hydrated. Actually glowing in a way it had not been since before pregnancy. And my husband noticed before I even said a word. That was when I knew this routine was real.
The full routine I use morning and night
Morning
Gentle cleanse. Start by removing overnight buildup without stripping your skin. If your face feels tight after cleansing your skin barrier is taking damage. Tight is not clean. Tight is disrupted. This is what I use
Tone flooding. This step changed everything for me. Instead of applying toner once you layer it in multiple thin layers. You are flooding your skin with hydration before anything else goes on. Your skin drinks it up and everything after absorbs better because of it. Linked here for you
Serum. Rejuran Ampoule. This is where you target your specific concerns. I use the Rejuran Ampoule in the morning. It is a salmon DNA based serum that repairs your skin barrier, smooths texture, and gives your skin that plump healthy look over time. It sounds intense. It is actually gentle. This is the one. Moisturizer. Centellian 24 Madeca Cream PDRN. This cream changed my skin. Rich without being heavy, deeply hydrating, and the PDRN technology actively supports your skin’s ability to repair and renew itself. My skin looks visibly more alive since I started using it. Find it here
SPF. CeraVe Invisible Mineral Sunscreen. Non negotiable sis. Especially when I’m going outside. I use this one specifically because it is mineral not chemical. Here is why that matters for us. Chemical sunscreens absorb UV rays and convert them into heat inside your skin. For women with melanin rich skin that heat can trigger more hyperpigmentation. Mineral sunscreen sits on top and physically blocks UV before it even gets in. This one leaves zero white cast. And if you have brown skin you know that is not a small thing. I linked it for you
Night Routine
Gentle cleanse. Double cleanse at night if you wore makeup or SPF during the day. Start with an oil cleanser first. Oil breaks down makeup, SPF, and sebum in a way that water based cleansers cannot do alone. Then go in with your regular cleanser to actually clean the skin underneath. The first cleanse lifts everything off. The second cleanse gets what is left. One cleanser alone will not get it all and your skin will pay for it overnight. This is the one I use
Exfoliate. Medicube Zero Pore Pads, twice a week. One side is textured for exfoliation. One side is soft and hydrating. AHA, BHA, and sodium hyaluronate in one pad. You are removing dead skin cells and hydrating at the same time. My skin texture has improved more from these than from anything else I have ever tried. Twice a week only. Over exfoliating will set you back and damage your skin barrier. Shop the pads here
Tone flooding. Same as morning. Layer it. Let your skin take it in.
Serum. Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum. PDRN signals your skin cells to repair and regenerate while the peptides support collagen production. I noticed smoother texture and a more even look within the first few weeks of consistent use. Here is the one I use
Moisturizer. Centellian 24 Madeca Cream original. At night I switch to the original version which is slightly richer. Your skin goes into repair mode while you sleep. This cream feeds that process. I wake up every morning with my skin feeling soft and full in a way it never did before I started this routine. Get it here
What showing up consistently actually does
This did not work overnight. The first week I was not sure I was seeing anything. But I kept going. Around week two something shifted. The dullness started lifting. The glow I thought I had permanently lost started coming back. And my husband looked at me one day without any me saying anything and said my skin looked different. Better.
That was all I needed.
Korean skincare is not about one miracle product. It is about showing up for your skin every morning and every night the same way you show up for everything else. With intention. With consistency. Without quitting because you did not see results after three days.
Quick recap
Morning: Gentle cleanse, tone flooding, serum, moisturize, spf.
Night: Double cleanse, exfoliate 2x a week, tone flooding, serum, moisturize.
Your skin is part of your temple sis. It deserves your attention and your consistency.
Start with one product if the full routine feels like a lot. But start. Your skin will show you in the mirror exactly what that decision did for you.
